A Pair of Bespoke Sculptural Cabinets

Comissioned by SHH Architects

“An expression of a captured moment in time.”

Anka was approached by SHH Architects to help design and develop this beautiful pair of cabinets for a residential project in Central London.

The pair of cabinets feature a bespoke conceptual magnolia flower artwork to the front doors that wraps around each side of the units. This artwork is comprised of various layers of liquid metal and hand worked patination to give this incredible depth to the background and foreground, with statement liquid metal finished hand sculpted relief magnolia flowers and embossed magnolia leaves imprints. Internally the pieces are veneered in a dyed eucalyptus timber veneer with LED lighting and antique mirror back panels.

This bespoke pair of cabinets were meticulously crafted to meet the specific design and functional requirements presented by the client (SHH) and were tailored to fit perfectly within niches within the end clients’ residence. These cabinets incorporate both traditional details with modern conceptual sculptural design. Resulting in two cabinets that are as much of a piece of art within the space as they are functional.
